Mabthera (Rituximab)

Mabthera (Rituximab) is a type of drug called a biological therapy used in diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and Vasculitis. In some conditions, B-cells in the body produce harmful autoantibodies which attach the bodies own tissues.

Mabthera works by depleting these B-cells to reduce inflammation and improve symptoms. To help explain and demonstrate to non-medical observers how the diseases work and how Mabthera can help to alleviate their symptons, Jellylearn became involved.

Working alongside the drug companies' PR Company we scripted and designed a 6 minute long video whose primary focus was on explaining how the body can turn against itself in a disease such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and then go on to illustrate how Mabthera then interrupts this autoimmune response thus alleviating the symptoms of the disease.

2D Animation

Here we used 2d animation as the medium of choice as the simplicity of the message was crucial as the target audience were not from a medical background and so complexity was to be avoided. The final animation was distributed widely as its graphical approach was well received especially where a simple explanation of both disease and treatment were necessary.
